Animatronic Sea Dragon (mixed media): This piece is called 'Oceanic Dragon'. It is my third paper mache dragon; this time mounted on a 1.2m wide × 0.6m high canvas swamp painting background. It utilises a motion sensor attached at the neck to trigger a sequence of water ambience sounds and alligator bellows whilst opening and closing its mechanical jaw. The jaws and neck measure roughly 0.6m and the sculpted tail is about 0.75m. It was created with a variety of materials including paper mache, air dry clay, cloth (old bedsheets), acrylic paint, and fake grass. Noted in thePeople's Choice Award announcement for strong public support in the Wyndham Art Prize 2026. Also featured on YouTube on Wyndham TV.
